I just wanted to take a second to share this weeks YouTube video with you all! I’ve posted some of my go to booty workouts here, so I wanted to post a link to my video so you can see how I do them!
You can watch it here….
You guys are my favorite group to share with, so I very much hope that you will enjoy the video. I love making videos and I hope that you don’t mind me sharing them with you on occasion! I try not to flood you with YouTube but every now and again I like to share it with you!
If you have anything you would like me to make a video of, please don’t hesitate to let me know! I want to create things that you will want to see! Thank you so much for your support thus far, it means so much to me.
Who is looking forward to the weekend? I wish that the weather would clear up, but I am otherwise looking forward to hanging out with my family over the weekend! What are you all planning for the weekend? I hope that you are doing something fun!
p.s- Thankful Thursday will return next week!
I tend to stick to a standard bodybuilding split. And I like it that way. But with my family getting back into sports, I am making some changes. I am currently working on adding in sport specific conditioning and making sure that I am getting enough core work. I firmly believe in training for whatever sport it is that you play because not only will it help you play better, it reduces the risk of injury. For me one of the biggest things I need to work on is lateral movements. This is where I have most often hurt myself in the past, so I am working on training plans that incorporate this movement pattern. Core work I don’t mind, I just need to make it a priority. The one addition that needs to happen that I am not excited about is sprints. Save me Lord. But once the weather clears up they will get added to the mix. I am excited about adding all this in, not just because I enjoy playing sports, but to see how it affects my overall training and physique.
So I will be working these things into my less intense workout days, which is generally Thursday and Saturday. And one day a week we will be running drills as a family. The kids need the most work, so planning stuff for them is a big project! Luckily between the hubs and I we have enough experience to set them up with a good training plan. Currently we are starting them with just the basic movements and working on strength training.
I hope that you all have a fantastic Wednesday! How has your week been so far? I hope it has been great! See you all tomorrow!
Everyone here knows that I love to workout. I like going into my gym and lifting weights, we get it. And I bet a couple of you do as well. But what else do you like to do? Everyone has hobbies, some of us even have several. But today I’m going to share my non exercise/fitness hobbies with you.
I love to crochet. Love it. I love to make blankets especially. I finished a wool lap blanket for my husband about two weeks ago and I am about to finish a small circular blanket. I generally make lap or small blankets because I keep them in the living room and they are easier to manage than a full size afghan. And my kids like the smaller blankets, so that works for me. Are they fancy? No. Do they work? Yes. Do my kids fight over them? Always. I also enjoy making hats, especially fun or funny hats. I made a mohawk hat for my son and my girls I made My Little Pony hats. And I’ve made some Yoda hats. Crochet just makes me happy. And it is quite relaxing, a nice way to end a long day.
I also love to read, I have a book wait list a mile long. I am currently reading The Boy in the Striped Pajamas and The Silmarillion. Both are quite good, the Silmarillion is a bit more difficult language wise but Striped pajamas is tougher due to context. Both books I am reading to make sure my kids will enjoy them. They always steal my books so I have these stashed away in my room!
These are two of my hobbies, I have many more! What hobbies do you have? Share them with me and maybe I’ll give it a shot! I hope that you have a wonderful day and I’ll see you tomorrow!
Not gonna lie, I am struggling right now. My weight has not budged in a few weeks, despite diet and workout tweaks. I am incredibly frustrated.
My workouts have been going great, lifts going up in weight, still feeling good during workouts. I’ve been able to add in some outside cardio here and there because the weather has been warmer. And my three-mile time has come down considerably since losing 11 pounds. Still have 10-15 to go. But I can’t seem to get it dropping again. I’m going to keep plugging along though. Hopefully I can break through this plateau soon. It is setting be back behind schedule.
I have gotten better about doing posing practice. But dedicated sessions…and unofficial in between sets sessions. Feeling more comfortable in the routine, but still seeing what I can make better. But things are flowing much more smoothly at this point.
Today is glutes and cardio. Looking forward to some gym time to help burn off this frustration. Hoping to see a drop in weight next week. I’m going to keep trying to keep the intensity up and a close eye on what I am eating.
Happy Friday friends! I hope that you have an incredible weekend and I will see you all again on Monday!
Hello everyone! It’s Thursday! The weekend is SOOOOO close! Are you excited? Do you have plans? We are going to my son’s cub scout packs Blue and Gold dinner. And probably running some paintball drills…and it’s our 16 year anniversary as well! So it’s a big weekend! (And I still haven’t picked a side dish for the dinner! Drop me your favorite dish in the comments!#momlife)
This Thursday I am thankful for my hubby. I know, SOOO cliché. But I am. He works hard to take care of us so that I can stay home and homeschool the kids. He busts his booty at work and then comes home and does dad stuff with the kids. He goes to scout meetings and outings when he is available. He tries to be as involved as he can in everything the kids are doing. He puts up with me…and that’s saying a lot. I am not the easiest person to be married to. I am aware of my flaws! But here he is, 16 years later….still dealing with my crazy.
So, yes, this week I am thankful for my husband. Even when he drives me crazy. I love the guy. I hope that those of you reading this today with spouses are equally as thankful for your spouse!
What are you thankful for this week? Is it the weekend? Is it puppies or kitty’s? Snacks? Whatever it is, take a minute and think about it and be grateful! I hope that you all have a great Thursday and look forward to my weekly check in with you tomorrow!
Today I am going to share my back workout with you! I change-up my workouts pretty frequently, but these are the staple back exercises that I use. I work my back once a week, and I generally add my bicep work on the same day. For the purposes of this post however, I’m just going to focus on the back.
- Lat pulldowns-4×12-15. Depending on how I am structuring the entire workout.
- Bent over barbell rows-4×10-12.
- Seated single arm cable rows-4×15.
- Face pulls-3×12-15.
- Single arm high cable pulls- 4×15. ( I alternate these almost weekly with a low cable pull.)
- Seated close grip cable row- 3×12.
This is the basic overview of my back workouts. Again I mix it up pretty frequently. I like to add in Austrian rows, bent over dumbbell rows, upright cable rows, single arm rows, things like that. But, if you are looking for something new to try, give this a go. If you are unsure of any of these exercises, I will be putting up a YouTube video in a few weeks of this workout. (I preload my videos, so it will be around Feb 12 when I get that up!) If you have any questions, let me know!
I hope that you all have a great Wednesday!
So, as you may know, Phil and I went out and played some paintball this weekend. So I wanted to pop in and let you know how it went….
The field was W.E.T. So much water and mud everywhere. And I am not about that knee-deep mud life. Unless I have to be, and in this case, I didn’t. And the day started off kind of cold. A few of our friends were out at the field so we spent a large portion of time hanging out and catching up with them. I got to try out my camera on some of the guys who were playing on the air ball field, I stayed behind the net because I didn’t want anything to happen to my new camera!
Eventually the sun came out and it warmed up, so we got our gear together and went out on two of the drier fields and played some one on one’s. Always a great time when you take out your hubby and a former team-mate! It was so much fun to play again! And it was pretty amazing how much my body remembered. I didn’t even think about what I was going to do once we got started. Which was surprising considering how long it has been since I played last! We did get to do a little bit of practice on the air ball field. This was stressful for me as I have very little experience on this field, but I want to learn to play it better, so I went out and did it.
The best part of the day was going out to dinner with our friends. We haven’t spent time with these people in years and it was nice to sit down and eat and laugh. Good food and good friends go a long way! I love the sport of paintball, but the people really make it great. We have known these people for more than 10 years, played hundreds of hours of ball with them. Traveled with them, had countless meals with them. They have seen our kids grow from babies to what they are now…. The people make the sport. I miss being on a team, I miss playing with my friends. What other sport can you shoot someone in the face and get told, “Great Job!” Hopefully we will be able to get back in the swing and play more frequently.
So that’s pretty much it for the update. We have another field day scheduled and I can’t wait!
Have a great Tuesday!
